Awarded full university title and research degree awarding powers in 2005, The University of Northampton is a dynamic, modern university situated in the heart of England.
A medium-sized University with 10,000 students and two Northampton-based campuses, just 2.5 miles apart, we offer hundreds of courses to meet all needs and interests. From foundation and undergraduate level to postgraduate, professional and doctoral qualifications, you can study traditional arts, humanities and sciences subjects, as well as more modern subjects such as entrepreneurship, product design or advertising.
The only university in Northamptonshire, we provide a unique resource to this and surrounding counties, not only through the learning and skills development we can offer to individuals and employees, but also from the highly skilled graduate workforce, bespoke consultancy and research we can deliver. The largest regional trainer of future healthcare and teaching professionals, the Universitys Sunley Management Centre enjoys a national reputation for training, consultancy and development it provides to executives and professionals.
We are very much an international player too. We welcome over 700 international students from 100 different countries each year and enjoy a global reputation in many of our subject specialisms, including waste management, leather technology and fashion. Higher education has changed beyond all recognition over the 30 years weve been delivering it — you can now study online, at University, at work or at home. You can even design your own degree, by choosing the combinations of subjects you are interested in.
By 2010, we intend to increase our student numbers by 20% and become a national model of excellence in engaged learning. We plan to double the income we receive from research and knowledge transfer activities.
